Hi! I’m MJ Wright LMHC, LADC-1
I live in MA and I practice telehealth therapy in both MA and CT. I specialize in helping adults and teens who have substance abuse, anxiety and ADHD.
Your Path Toward Healing and Growth
There’s something powerful about feeling more in control of your life. Therapy can help you get there. Equipped with tools to handle challenges, shift heavy emotions and build confidence from the inside out. Little by little, that sense of dread can ease, making room for clarity, calm and a renewed sense of purpose.
My goal is to offer a safe, supportive space where you feel truly heard. Whether you’re navigating anxiety, relationship struggles or supporting a teen who’s going through a tough time, I’m here to walk alongside you. Therapy isn’t about fixing you. It’s about helping you reconnect with your strengths, learn new ways to cope and feel more like yourself again. You don’t have to face things alone and real change can start today.
Credentials & Experience
I have a Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology and School Adjustment Counseling. With over 17 years experience, I’m licensed as an LMHC (Licensed Mental Health Clinician) in MA and CT and LADC-1 (Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor) in MA. Recognizing the challenges my clients faced in leaving work for therapy and dealing with traffic to reach my office, I transitioned to teletherapy to offer more accessible support in 2018. My online therapy service was born from a commitment to meeting clients where they are and ensuring convenience and flexibility in their journey towards healing and growth.

Beyond the Credentials: My Story
Growing up in Barbados shaped my understanding of mental health in profound ways. I witnessed how cultural attitudes could both support and sometimes hinder emotional wellbeing. My own journey with anxiety (especially moving to MA at agg 22 for grad school) and ADHD taught me firsthand the transformative power of therapy and the importance of finding a therapist who truly understands these experiences.
This personal path, combined with my Caribbean background, brings a unique perspective to my practice. I don’t just understand anxiety and ADHD from textbooks – I live with them. This allows me to offer both professional expertise and genuine empathy to my clients navigating similar challenges. My experience has taught me that mental health support should be both culturally responsive and personally informed.
My approach combines Caribbean warmth with professional expertise. Growing up in a culture that emphasizes community and resilience, I learned the importance of creating genuine connections. When working with clients, I bring this cultural wisdom together with evidence-based practices to create a therapeutic experience that honors both personal and cultural contexts. I understand the complexities of navigating multiple cultural identities and how this can impact mental health and personal growth.
I’m here to walk alongside you on your journey to healing, bringing both professional expertise and cultural understanding to our work together.
